About the Role

The Territory Manager is responsible for developing and managing the GtechDrill business and customer base throughout Ontario and the Maritimes, with a focus on direct customer relationships, sales growth, territory development, inventory management and customer support.

The long-term vision for this role is to build and develop a small team to support the growth and management of the territory.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships, drilling contractors, end users, engineering firms and consultants throughout the territory.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and manage the sales process from initial contact through delivery and follow-up.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, provide reliable forecasts and actively manage territory opportunities.
  • Prepare, present and negotiate technical and commercial proposals with customers.
  • Conduct customer visits, equipment demonstrations, site visits and field trials.
  • Provide first-level technical support and troubleshoot equipment and operational issues with customers in the field.
  • Manage customer concerns and follow up on issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend solutions suited to their applications and projects.
  • Maintain and manage territory inventory, ensuring accurate inventory levels, proper stock rotation and alignment with customer demand and sales forecasts, while achieving established inventory turnover targets.
  • Complete a monthly inventory reconciliation, including physical inventory verification, variance reporting and corrective actions as required.
  • Monitor customer accounts, support timely payments and communicate potential collection issues.
  • Maintain accurate sales, customer and inventory information in SAP and/or CRM systems.
  • Monitor territory profitability, including pricing, freight and other costs, and ensure opportunities meet established margin targets.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on equipment, service, parts, logistics and customer requirements.
  • Provide market feedback on customer needs, competition and product opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends and market developments to identify new opportunities and potential challenges.
  • Provide field and customer input to support Engineering in the development and improvement of GtechDrill products.
  • Represent GtechDrill at trade shows, industry events and relevant professional organizations, such as the Canadian Geotechnical Society and National Drilling Association.
  • Provide a monthly territory and market report, covering sales activity, pipeline, market developments, competitive activity, customer feedback, inventory status and key opportunities or challenges.
  • Provide a monthly sales forecast to management based on pipeline activity, customer opportunities and expected orders.
  • Plan and manage territory activities to maximize customer coverage and time in the field.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies and initiatives that improve customer service, market coverage and overall customer experience.
  • Travel approximately 30–35% of working time throughout Ontario and the Maritimes, including overnight travel as required.

 

Profile

  • Experience in industrial equipment sales, including heavy machinery and attachments. Experience in drilling, geotechnical, environmental or related industries is considered an asset.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand equipment and troubleshoot problems with customers.
  • CPT knowledge is an asset.
  • SAP and/or CRM experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized, autonomous and self-motivated, with strong follow-through.
  • Team player who works effectively with sales, engineering, service, production, and other internal teams.
  • Results-oriented and comfortable managing priorities independently.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
